With fire season coming, prepare your family by creating a fire escape plan and making sure everyone knows what to do in an emergency. By having a plan in place and practicing it beforehand, this ensures you and your family will know what to do and be able to calmly go through the steps to get out of your house in an emergency. The National Fire Protection Association has an extremely helpful article on how to create one that is child friendly. It also has tips on how to best lay out your plan.

After creating your plan, make sure to run through it a couple of times and make sure all family members know what to do. The NFPA also suggests that if you have children, have a practice run in the middle of the night, so you can find out how well they learned it. #SafetyFirst #FireSeason
