Top Preventative Water Loss Tips:
- Check Your Bill: Pay attention to any large (or even small) spikes in water usage on your bill. It could even show up as a few dollars a month, but it could be. This may be your only sign there is a problem!
- Beware of Trees: While having trees is great for the environment, and to have around, you need to be careful about what types of trees you plant close to your home or any other buildings. The key is to plant trees with non-invasive roots at least ten feet away from your home, and trees with invasive roots at least 25 feet away.
- Maintaining Appliances: It is important to check your appliances for any issues, and make sure they are working properly. Over time, small leaks can cause big problems if not quickly and fixed in a timely manner.
- Take Action: Once you see a spike in your water bill, or find a problem area, it is time to fix it! Make it a priority, so no further damage is caused. If you do ignore the problem, you can also have mold growth in the area!
