Hurricane Laura Storm Damage

In the middle of August, there began to be reports released of a large storm developing off the coast of the United Started. On August 27th, 2020 the strongest storm of 2020 made landfall: Hurricane Laura. Before hitting the US, it also moved across and caused damage to several other smaller countries. When she hit the United States, she caused a lot of damage to both Louisiana and Texas.
While Laura caused a lot of destruction moving through the area, the one positive thing was that residents had several days warning she was going to hit. The locals had a little bit of time to make plans and/or evacuate the areas that they believed would be hit the worst. Many did and lives were saved. But one of the hardest parts is returning home, and seeing the damage that was caused while you were gone. While you may be prepared to find damage, there is no way to be 100% prepared to see the damage on your own home or business.
SERVPRO is a franchise that is in most areas in the county. Normally, there are enough offices and crews to handle any size job that comes their way, but when a major disaster strikes, there comes a time to call in reinforcements. At this point, SERVPRO corporate then starts calling in other franchises to travel to the areas and begin working.
SERVPRO of Daviess County was called upon to send teams to Lake Charles, Louisiana to assist with the influx of calls comes coming in. We were quickly accepted the invitation and hit the road. We have now been there over two weeks and will be there as long as we are needed.
